My HTC Desire [SOLD]

Well it had to happen eventually : smart-phones are finally ready for me!

Hard to believe that a gadget lover has taken so long to buy a smart phone, but I wanted a device that could combine my PDA (which not only did PIM type things, but also allowed remote access to computers via SSH and many other features), my mp3 player, a Sat Nav and of course my phone.

It's all very well and good having a smart-phone with all of these capabilities, but what can you actually do with it? Well here's my top recommended applications (either scan or tap on the barcodes):

Essential Applications

Astro File Manager
Astro File Manager

Price: FREE

You really need to be able to kill off rogue processes and easily move / delete files from your SD card, well here's the perfect solution!

Juice Defender
Juice Defender

Price: FREE

One of the problems with these smart phones is that the battery life is very poor: between their colour screens, high speed CPUs and numerous radio transmitters, you're lucky to get more than a day with high or even average usage. This app automagically disables your WiFi and 3G connections when the phone is idle, but applies rules to activate them, for example when you unlock the screen, or for 1 minute every 15 minutes to allow for apps to sync.

Must Have Applications

Angry Birds
Angry Birds

Price: FREE

A stupidly addictive puzzle game! Pigs have stolen the birds' eggs, so the birds are angry. You must catapult the birds into the pig pens to kill them!

Ultimate Juice

Get even more out of your battery life with location controlled WiFi, all schedules, night & peak schedules, timeouts and more! Note that this requires Juice Defender.

Very Handy Applications
